Lucy Gonzalez, Assistant Editor-in-Chief and Staff Writer
Hi there!
My name is Lucy Gonzalez and I am an 12th grader at DDCUS. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, with four siblings. I am a third generation Cuban-American. I have had the privilege of being The Globe’s Assistant Editor-in-Chief for two years and really enjoy what this club has offered! Broadcast Journalism and news reporting have always interested me, and I enjoy the art of public speaking. I enjoy meeting new people and connecting with them by hearing their stories and sharing mine. Some of my interests are participating in group activities, having fun with positive people, and sharing time talking to others about all sorts of interesting topics. I also enjoy spending my time working with Students Ambassadors, being CEO of my school’s FBLA chapter, and keeping active in my school. I am also really passionate about music, and listening to different types of genres is my favorite pastime - especially throwback 2010-2013 songs. Ever since I was younger, I’ve said that I was going to be the next talk show host, like icons Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres. Being able to reach that many people by sharing my love of public speaking and sharing conversations with others is my biggest dream. Fortunately, as part of The Globe and working with the Doral Family Journal, I have had the opportunity to grow as a young journalist and prepare for what I dream of doing in the future. I
