We Are Back Witches!
Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2 returns after 29 years.
September 30, 2022
Amok, amok, amok! Watch out Salem, the Sanderson witches are back! 29 years after they were summoned by the lighting of the Black Flame Candle, Winfred, Sarah, and Max Sanderson run amok in Massachusetts.
The iconic 1993 Halloween comedy was set in 1693 Salem, Massachusetts, when the sisters capture a young boy’s sister and absorb her soul to make them young. Thackery Binx, the brother of the young girl, then tries to save his sister but unfortunately wasn’t powerful enough against the witches and was transformed into a black cat. As the movie continues, they try once more to absorb the town’s youth and encounter three young children who eventually save their town and put the witchy chaos to rest…or so it seemed.
Now, many years later, Sarah, Winfred, and Max are awakened by three teenagers the night before Hallow’s Eve, and are hungrier than ever! By the looks of the trailer, the sisters were not happy to be locked away for 370 years and try everything in their power to take over the town. Something interesting about the new movie is how they give some insight into how the three sisters became witches.
Not only does Hocus Pocus 2 seem entertaining to newer audiences, but it also brings excitement to previous generations who love the Sanderson sisters. Disney+ Plus is set to release the highly-anticipated Halloween feature film on September 30th for viewers everywhere. If one hasn’t had the chance to view the classic, the Hocus Pocus Original is on Disney+ and other streaming platforms.
