On January 10th, the 80th Golden Globes Awards made a comeback after not being aired on tv last year. 2022 was an incredible year for film, and the big question was who would walk away with the top honors. As usual, the night began with show-stopping looks from the red carpet, leaving people talking long after the night ended.

Ke Huy Quan from “Everything Everywhere all at once” and Angela Bassett from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” took the wins for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
Ke Huy Quan’s unforgettable speech left everyone teary-eyed after he acknowledged the man who gave him his first role, director Steven Spielberg. He famously began his career as a young actor in films like “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and “The Goonies,” “I was raised to never forget where I came from and to always remember who gave me my first opportunity,” said Quan.
as well as Tyler James Williams from “Abbott Elementary” for TV Supporting Actor and Julia Garner from “Ozark” for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical Comedy or Drama Series. Steven Spielberg took home his third Best Director Golden Globe of his career for “The Fabelmans,” a story based on Spielberg’s adolescence and first years as a filmmaker. “The Fabelmans” also won Best Motion Picture.
“The Banshees of Inisherin,” directed by Martin McDonagh, won Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy,” as well as Best Screenplay. Its lead actor, Colin Farrell, took home Best Performance by an Actor – Musical or Comedy.”
Cate Blanchett’s “Tár” won Best Performance – Drama” and Austin Butler’s “Elvis” won Best Performance by an Actor.
In television, “House of the Dragon” won Best Television Series – Drama and “Abbott Elementary” won Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. The HBO Max hit series, “The White Lotus,” directed by Mike White, won Best Television Limited Series. Popular actress, Jennifer Coolidge, in “The White Lotus,” won Best Performance – Supporting Actress.
“And, Mike White, you have given me hope. You’ve given me a new beginning…he really is one of the greatest people I’ve ever… He gives me so much excitement to be — you make people want to live longer,” said Coolidge.
