Next stop for DDCUS’ FBLA competitors? States.

The DDCUS FBLA Chapter has competed in categories ranging from Broadcast Journalism to Parliamentary Procedures. Members had the opportunity to choose from pre-judged, performance or skill events to compete at districts. The following members qualified for state competitions, to be held in Orlando, March 11 – 14th.

The FBLA State’s is a conference where students from all the districts compete against each other in various business related events. Students will test their knowledge on various business related topics like career exploration, business etiquette, and how to run an effective meeting. Then, there is the performance event where students have to compete in front of a judge. These include public speaking, broadcast journalism and intro to social strategies.

Ms. Garrido, FBLA’s club sponsor, says: “I am beyond excited and proud of the FBLA members. They have worked day and night preparing for their selected competitions and it shows. Out of the 50 students that participated, 37 qualified to go to State’s. We weren’t able to go last year due to COVID, but that did not stop the students from working hard and making sure that this year we made it all the way. I can’t wait to see them show off their skills and get to experience this learning opportunity with them. “

DDCUS is eager to see what the future holds for DDCUS’ business leaders.

See you in Orlando!
