Since jump starting his career with Disney, Tim Burton has directed and produced many successful films, including “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Beetlejuice,” and “Corpse Bride.”

After attending the Lumiere Festival in France, where he won the Prix Lumière award, Burton confirmed we will likely not work with Disney again. At a press conference, according to Deadline, he stated Disney had “gotten to be very homogenized, very consolidated. There’s less room for different types of things.”

Burton stated his on-and-off relationship with Disney dates back to his multiple firings. After the release of his 2019 Disney project, “Dumbo,” Burton compared Disney to a “circus” that exploits his creativity.

Burton has branched out from Disney and has unveiled his next project for Netflix, an Addams Family spinoff, “Wednesday,” which will debut November 23. For now, Tim Burton states he will continue to work independently until he can find a like-minded studio to support his artistic vision.
