Greta Gerwig’s live action movie of everyone’s favorite fashion doll, Barbie, is finally hitting theaters on July 21st. The highly anticipated movie stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the classic couple, Barbie and Ken. The production released its official trailer this week, leaving audiences thrilled to see the film hit the big screen.

Along with Robbie and Gosling, the cast is stacked with stars such as, Simu Lui and Ncuti Gatwa playing “The Kens,” and Emma Mackey, Kate McKinnon, Hari Nef, Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Dua Lipa, and more playing, “The Barbies.”

The new trailer introduced audiences to Barbieland, where all Barbies and Kens live perfect, pink lives. When the news of the live action film based on the iconic Barbie dolls released, everyone had a clear vision of the plot for the movie, however, when Greta Gerwig was announced as the director, people’s visions took a turn.

At the end of the trailer, ordinary life in the dream pink world is left behind by a wandering Barbie and a supporting Ken. Due to the unclear plot of the film, millions of fans have come up with tons of theories about the potential plot line of the film. However, the only confirmed insight about the film is on IMDb’s page: “A doll living in ‘Barbieland’ is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world.”

The film is set to come to theaters on July 21st, 2023, and until then, ongoing theories will continue to circulate until the release.
